Making the most of things

So on Friday I revealed several of my teeth had come loose. I still have them though so that’s something to be very grateful for. I’m aware of course that it could have been SO much worse! You can survive with fewer teeth. Might not be pleasant but it’s not life threatening and for that I’m truly grateful. You really do have to make the most of what you’ve got and be glad to be alive. Each day is a bonus when you’ve lost people and seen how life can turn on a sixpence (Euro/dime) and change suddenly and horribly.

I am here. I’m not going anywhere and I’m incredibly fortunate in oh so many ways. Doesn’t hurt to remember that once in a while. I guess you could say I am checking my privilege which all privileged bloggers should do. I’m white, I live in the West in a country that still has a national health service, the roads work, water comes out my taps when I turn them on and I can afford to buy the medicine I need which is not free but is cheap and easily available.

Wasn’t Paleo attacked my teeth!

I also want to point out that it wasn’t my diet that caused my teeth to go bad on me. They’ve been bad for many years; well, not bad but not exactly good. Inevitably my gums have been receding as gums do when you get older. I could’ve taken better care of them. That said, there can be an element of hereditary to this and also stress. I will do whatever I can to take good care of myself and that includes sticking to the diet. That said, the diet is easier with the anti Bs giving me bit of an upset stomach and my fear of eating now in case I dislodge a tooth!

The flounce that wasn’t…

After my flounce out of Twitter last week I haven’t actually quite left yet. There are two reasons for this. Firstly, I received so many lovely warm messages asking me not to leave that I decided to stay. Truly, I didn’t know you cared! Thanks. And secondly, I do need Twitter for my work and I do believe either Twitter will give us web users the same chance to hide images as it gives to users on mobile devices or some lovely geek will write the necessary code. For the time being I am losing anyone who posts too many images. I don’t go to Twitter for pictures. For that, I can go to Facebook or just about anywhere else on the net. I want text from Twitter. The joy of text!

Thanks for listening. See you later in the week.
